Lost a Gas Receipt? Find Your 7-Eleven App or Final Fuel Record
Recover the station-issued record first and avoid counting a prepayment or pending hold as a second fill-up.

A missing pump receipt can leave you with a bank entry but no clear record of the fuel purchased. Start with the station's own receipt or the payment app used for that fill-up. A prepayment slip, a pending authorization and a final fuel receipt can describe different stages of one visit.
This guide covers US 7-Eleven fuel purchases and practical personal records for drivers, tradespeople and small businesses. Other countries and payment programs may use different systems. It focuses on recovery and matching documents, rather than the oil-market explanation in our fuel-cost guide.
If you paid for fuel in the 7-Eleven app
7-Eleven's official fuel-receipt help article says app-paid fuel receipts can be found in Transaction History and are also emailed to the address on file. Check the account and email used for that purchase. Match the station, date and amount before saving the document.
This guidance is specifically about paying for fuel with the app. Entering a rewards phone number at the pump is not evidence that every payment method will produce the same app history. If the expected receipt is missing, ask official support about that transaction rather than assuming it was never charged.
If the pump did not print, or the paper was lost
Ask the station whether it can provide the original final receipt. Give the location, date, approximate time, pump number if known, and amount you can confirm. Explain whether you paid inside, at the pump or in the app. Keep any transaction reference available. A copy is subject to the station's records and ability to locate the purchase; there is no universal recovery guarantee.
For help finding the appropriate customer-support route, use 7-Eleven's official contact page. It distinguishes some regional inquiries. Use the channel for your location and do not post full payment credentials publicly.
Photograph damaged or fading paper while details are still readable. Keep the surviving paper, photo, app record and related payment entry together. Do not replace unreadable gallons or prices with estimates from another visit.
Check whether you have the final fuel amount
7-Eleven's current terms explain that a pump purchase without a preselected amount can involve a preauthorization exceeding the final transaction. Therefore, do not automatically record a pending hold as fuel spending. Check the final merchant document and payment status, and ask the merchant or payment provider about unresolved differences.
If you prepaid inside, keep that slip and ask for the completed fuel transaction when needed. A prepayment amount alone does not establish how much fuel was dispensed. Do not combine it with the final receipt as a second purchase.
Here is a hypothetical recordkeeping example, not a merchant price or refund policy. You have a prepayment slip for $80 and a final receipt for $63.84. Preserve both, but record the completed fuel purchase once at $63.84. The $16.16 difference needs its own confirmed explanation from the transaction records; do not invent a cash refund or count an unconfirmed refund as money received. A pending card hold is also separate from a confirmed purchase or refund.
When an original cannot be recovered
Use the receipt editor or the published 7-Eleven template for a personal record using only supported details. Replace the template's examples. Leave unknown gallons, unit prices and taxes blank. A bank entry supporting $63.84 does not by itself prove a particular gallon quantity. A CMR-created record is not a merchant-issued original and does not guarantee reimbursement. Retain all original evidence.
Compare fuel purchases with CSV or Excel
With applicable paid export access, CMR summary CSV helps sort reviewed fill-ups by date or merchant; itemized CSV and Excel/XLSX can help organize recorded fuel details. Keep a source-reference column in your own spreadsheet and flag purchases still missing a final receipt. A clean receipt-file purchase alone does not include CSV or XLSX access. See the help center for export steps.
Before exporting, compare structured dates, quantities and amounts with confirmed sources. Custom printed wording does not automatically change numeric export data. Preserve an untouched source copy and avoid counting both prepayment and final purchase. Our emailed-receipt filing guide explains how to keep related documents together.
