Missing an eBay Purchase Record? Find Older and Guest Order Details
Recover eBay purchase details from older account orders or guest confirmation emails, keep seller references clear and organize only supported amounts.

A parcel arrives with the replacement tool you ordered, but the packing slip is missing or unreadable. Before recreating a receipt from memory, recover the original order information. On a marketplace, keeping the seller and item references straight matters as much as finding the payment total.
This guide follows eBay.com help reviewed October 31, 2026. It covers personal purchase documentation, not tax-invoice requirements, seller accounting or eligibility for returns and reimbursement.
Recover the order from Purchase History
The official purchase-history guide says orders from the past seven years are available there. The initial view shows the last 60 days; use See orders from to choose an older year. More actions includes Contact seller when you need clarification.
The official order-details guide directs account buyers to Purchase History, then the item and View order details. The order number is available in the details, purchase history and confirmation email. An item ID identifies the individual item; keep it distinct from the order number.
If you checked out as a guest
Guest purchases do not appear in account purchase history. eBay directs guests to the confirmation email for order details. Check the junk folder if the message is missing; account buyers can also verify their registered email address.
Search the mailbox you used for that purchase, including any saved folders. Do not assume signing into a different account will recover a guest transaction. Use the official help page for the next available support route if the email cannot be found. CMR cannot search eBay accounts, resend a marketplace confirmation or contact a seller for you.
Match the seller and item before recording amounts
A replacement part may resemble one you bought months earlier. Compare the recovered description, date and seller reference with the parcel and any surviving correspondence. Keep packaging photographs as supporting evidence, rather than treating a shipping label as a complete purchase receipt.
Where the original record states condition, quantity or included accessories, preserve those details in your private notes. Do not turn an assumption about what should have been included into a historical purchase fact. A current listing for a similar used tool is not proof of your earlier price or condition.
If you need a particular document from the seller, explain what you are missing through the official contact route. Availability and acceptance depend on the transaction and the recipient's requirements. An order confirmation, seller document and payment statement should remain identifiable as separate sources.
Example: keep shipping attached to the right purchase
Suppose the recovered order confirms a used measuring tool at $45 and shipping at $6. These are editorial example amounts, not eBay prices. Your personal purchase log can keep the $51 combined amount beside the order reference while retaining the supported breakdown.
If only a $51 payment is visible, do not invent the $45/$6 split. Leave the breakdown unresolved until the original record supports it. Keep a later refund or correction as a separate linked entry so that your working total does not silently overwrite the first document.
Save the recovered evidence before organizing it
Keep the confirmation email and any merchant or seller document in a private folder. If you use your browser's print or save function, open the resulting file and check that important lines were retained. This is a local copy of the displayed record, not a newly issued seller invoice.
Use a short filename with the date and item category. Keep full addresses, payment details and account identifiers out of filenames that might be shared. For a different ecommerce process, see the Amazon missing packing-slip guide; do not apply its invoice steps to eBay.
Organize confirmed details with CMR
When an original cannot be recovered, the CMR editor can arrange supported details in a personal record. Replace sample merchant and item text and leave unsupported fields blank. Preserve the original evidence you still have. A user-created record is not an eBay- or seller-issued original and does not guarantee reimbursement or acceptance.
With applicable paid export access, summary CSV helps sort marketplace purchases by date and merchant or seller reference. Itemized CSV and Excel/XLSX help compare confirmed tool, part and shipping amounts in your spreadsheet. Records Export covers up to 10 receipts; buying only a Clean Receipt file does not include CSV/XLSX. Review confirmed structured amounts before exporting. Editing printed wording or placement does not automatically change numeric purchase data. See CMR help for export steps.
